Coconut oil, being the magical oil that it is, is one of the most versatile products available. In addition to cooking, it’s excellent for body care and beauty purposes. It’s antibacterial, packed with antioxidants like vitamin E, and loaded with moisturizing fatty acids. It can even support wound care, hydration, and reduce water loss in dry skin.
We have some coconut oil beauty hacks using Bare Oils Fractionated Coconut Oil that will open your imagination to the world of possibilities using coconut oil. Our Fractionated Coconut Oil is made from organic coconuts and absorbs quickly into the skin to nourish, moisturize, soothe, and soften. It’s also excellent as a carrier oil to dilute and distribute our Bare Oils.
Beauty Hack #1: Skin
Did you know that you can whip coconut oil? When whipped, it turns into a butter-like consistency, which makes a great base for a DIY body butter!
Beauty Hack #2: Complexion
Because coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal, and moisturizing properties, it’s also excellent for your complexion. Try taking a few drops of the oil and rubbing it in circular motions all over your face and neck, giving yourself a gentle massage as you go. When you're done, wipe off or wash off the residue with your favorite cleanser. Even waterproof makeup can’t help but give in to this oil’s cleansing powers!
Coconut oil lip balm is another fun, easy DIY. Simply melt down a 2:1 ratio of Bare Oils Fractionated Coconut Oil to Beeswax. Once melted, add a few drops of Lavender Bare Oils and stir to combine all ingredients. Pour into little tins or lip balm containers and keep them handy for when your lips are feeling a little … parched. It’s solid at room temperature, but melts perfectly with your body heat when applying. It’s hydrating and healing.
Beauty Hack #3: Hair
To add some shine to dull tresses, apply a few drops of Bare Oils Fractionated Coconut Oil into your hands and rub together. Then, smooth a tiny amount of the oil onto the ends of your hair to add a nice sheen. It’s also great for flyaways, but don’t go too overboard! Apply too much and your hair could quickly begin to look like a greaser’s.
As a deep-conditioner, coconut oil is great at penetrating hair and preventing protein loss. Apply a small dollop of oil to your hair, comb it, and then tie hair into a loose bun overnight. Place something around or under your head during the night so you don’t get your bedding oily. In the morning, shampoo as usual with a gentle cleanser.
