Exfoliating Pre-Sun Body Polish
Today we’re bringing you another one of Cleopatra’s modernized beauty secrets! Since the first official day of Summer 2017 is only a short five days away, we’re adapting one of the Egyptian Queen’s facial scrub recipes that will be perfect for getting your gorgeous summer glow on.
Fun fact: Did you know that one of the keys to a long-lasting tan is to exfoliate your skin before tanning?
If you don’t exfoliate regularly, your skin accumulates dead skin cells, oil, and dirt, which can make your skin appear dark and dull. By exfoliating your skin before tanning, this allows your skin to breathe and ensures your tan will start to develop on the fresh layer of skin you’ve exposed.
But instead of using a loofah, puff, scrubber, etc., we’re going to tell you how to make the Queen’s homemade exfoliating body polish for rejuvenated, bronze-ready skin using almonds, walnuts, and milk.
Almonds: high in antioxidants, which help protect your skin cells from oxidative damage (a major contributor to aging).
Walnuts: packed with Vitamins B and E and linolenic acid, these guys hydrate and nourish, which helps promote beautiful, supple, glowing, and moisturized skin.
Milk: the lactic acid in milk helps reduce pigmentation, heal blemishes, and hydrate.
Bare Oils Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO): not only is FCO antibacterial and antimicrobial, but it also nourishes, moisturizes, soothes, and softens skin.
For best results, exfoliate the night before or morning of your rendezvous in the sun. Also, MAKE SURE to use SPF to keep your skin protected and moisturize often in-between exfoliations to keep that golden hue locked in.
