Whether they’re in for a rainy day or just home from school, kids think everything is free game when they’re running wild -- dangerous small objects, your brand new shampoo, the white walls, the furniture.
There is a way to keep those little hands busy without having to worry if what they’re playing with is safe. While the recipe below will require some adult supervision, kids are eager to help create from scratch a favorite childhood pastime: playdough.
Using common, simple kitchen ingredients and fragrant Bare Oils, you can be confident in knowing that this playdough is non-toxic (and you won’t have to worry if Junior decides he wants to try a little).
1 cup water
4 cups flour
2-4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1½ cups salt
10 drops Lemon or Pink Grapefruit Bare Oils
Food coloring (Get Creative!)
Combine water and food coloring in a large bowl.
Add flour and salt; blend into mixture.
Add Bare Oils, and blend all ingredients well.
Slowly add cooking oil, incorporating it into the mixture until it makes a smooth dough.
*The key to soft, no-bake playdough is enough cooking oil!
Store in airtight container
