Keeping our NY resolutions, with the help of a few of our favorite apps!
Anybody else made the resolution to better their health + wellness? Anybody else having trouble keeping track of it all? Or staying motivated / accountable? We feel you. We’ve also compiled a list of our Top 5 Health + Fitness apps to make the journey easier.
Transformation Progress: YOR Best Body Challenge (iPhone + Android)
We want to look and feel good. One of our main motivators during this journey is going to be our transformation. For this we turn to one of the best fitness apps around - the YOR Best Body Challenge App.
Specifically geared to help us create goals, motivate, and welcomes us into a community of others on the same path, the YOR Best Body Challenge App is like an entire cheering squad in our pocket, and sometimes we need that! It also hooks up to our YOR Health profile and lets us order our favorite supplements and vitamins quickly and easily!
Yoga: Find What Feels Good (iPhone + Android)
One of our resolutions for the new year is to achieve overall wellness through the mind, body, and spirit. What better way than through the consistent, daily practice of yoga?
We love Find What Feels Good because the host is a knowledgeable yogi that offers easy-to-follow yoga practices and (sometimes) guided meditations. She has playlists and practices for all levels, bodies, and genders. Her dog is also super cute.
Running: MapMyRun (iPhone + Android)
We’ve done it once, and we’ll do it again! One of our 2018 goals is to make our one-time achievement of jogging 3 miles/day a habit. To do this, we need an app that can not only record our workout details, but our route traveled as well!
MyMapRun is a fitness tracking app that can do all of that and more. We love it because it allows us to record workout details like distance ran, pace, speed, elevation, calories burned, and route traveled!
Kettlebell: Kettlebell Tabata Trainer
Our goal for overall wellness doesn’t stop at flexibility or cardio, we’re working on improving our strength and endurance. Going for a complete full body workout!
We like to use Kettlebell Tabata Trainer because it offers classic kettlebell training, unique kettlebell exercises, and video guidance. It comes with 3 levels, Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Because we’re just starting out, we’ll stick with Beginner.
You already know the benefits of meditation and how we’re actively trying to incorporate it within our everyday lives. Headspace is our favorite app that helps us achieve this!
Headspace offers guided meditations in time frames that work with our busy lifestyles to help calm us when we need it most. Example: During a plane take off, when the plane tips slightly, the noise gets unbearable, etc. A guided meditation that is able to calm our anxieties down is PERFECT.
